Academic Activities
Project Assignments
Project assignments are structured tasks designed to help individuals or teams develop skills, apply knowledge, and achieve specific learning objectives. Students of Rising Star often involve research, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. Modern education lays a lot of emphasis on Project work. Students are given projects which can be done either individually or as a member of a team. Students are required to do at least one Project on every subject in their curriculum. It helps in improving critical thinking, teamwork, and practical application of theoretical concepts.
Presentations
Being students of Rising Star believes that future leaders need to have effective soft skills. In order to enhance the communication skills of students, presentations are mandatory in this school. Each student is required to make the presentations on the topics provided by the teachers.
Counseling
Students face various problems which lead to unusual stress which slows individual growth. To avoid this from happening, the school has a house mentor and a counsellor who help students to overcome their stress. Counselling sessions can be long or short depending on the seriousness of the case.
Teamwork
Teamwork is the collaborative effort of a group to achieve a common goal efficiently and effectively. It involves communication, coordination, and cooperation among team members to leverage diverse skills, knowledge, and perspectives. Our classes are interactive. Emphasis is given to teamwork. Activities are given to groups of students who work as teams. Teamwork is essential in our professional life. Without teamwork, business houses cannot achieve their goals. This is why we give so much importance to teamwork.
Field Visits
We want our students to gain first-hand experience. So, we expose them to the practical world. Field visits enable students to observe things from close quarters. They get practical knowledge. This knowledge helps them to relate to the real world. The theories that students learn in class begin to make sense. Field visits are usually a single day program. Students are taken to public as well as private organizations. They prepare reports and make presentations within a few days after the visit.
Community Work
As we are a part of a community, we need to support &contribute to the wellbeing of our community. We teach our students to be responsible members of our society. Our community work includes helping people affected by natural calamities, maintaining cleanness, campaigning for the preservation of our heritage and the protection of people's rights.
Academic Tour-Excursion
An excursion-academic tour is a short journey or trip, usually taken for leisure, education, or exploration. It provides our students with the opportunity to experience new environments, cultures, and learning experiences outside their usual surroundings. Excursions offer numerous benefits, such as hands-on learning, cultural exposure, social interaction, and relaxation. They are an excellent way to combine knowledge with real-world experiences. Every year the school takes the students on academic tour-excursion to different places in our country. After every visiting, students are required to submit reports and make presentations on the visit.
Financial Intelligence Orientation
Financial literacy is the ability to understand and manage money wisely. For students, it means learning essential financial skills such as budgeting, saving, investing, and handling debt responsibly. We believe that developing financial literacy at an early age helps students build strong financial habits that will benefit them throughout their lives. By gaining financial literacy or intelligence, students can develop responsible money habits, avoid financial mistakes, and work towards a stable and secure future.
ICT Orientation
At the age of 21st century, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a vital role in students' academic and personal development. It refers to the use of digital tools such as computers, the internet, mobile devices, and software applications to access, process, and communicate information. ICT has transformed the way students learn, research, and interact with knowledge, making education more engaging and accessible. ICT empowers students to become independent learners, critical thinkers, and digitally literate individuals, preparing them for a technology-driven future.
Disaster Management Orientation
Disaster management is the process of preparing for, responding to, and recovering from natural and human-made disasters. For students, understanding disaster management is crucial as it helps them stay safe, assist others, and contribute to disaster risk reduction in their communities. Rising Star believes that learning about disaster management is essential in building awareness, resilience, and the ability to act responsibly in emergency situations. By gaining disaster management knowledge, students can take responsible actions to protect themselves and others, creating a safer and more resilient society.
Students Initiatives
Development of leadership skills among students has been one of our chief aims from the time the school was established. We strongly support and facilitate any student initiative that is beneficial to students. Our experience tells us that such initiatives have changed the lives of students.
Specific Training Programs
Since the market is dynamic and is always in a state of flux, we cannot only confine ourselves to the fixed curriculum. The school, therefore, organizes short training programs for students to prepare them for the future. These training programs are aimed at improving problem solving skills and technical skills.
